Концепция
And God made the firmament and separated the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament.
And it was so.
Genesis 1, 7.
The volume of the museum is erected vertically, oriented N—S, W—E.
The monumental composition is formed with white prisms of exhibition halls. They symbolize the flow of history, like heavy eternal rain breaking through the space, creating a new space, which is emphasized with large water pools around the museum.
The prisms tend to connect with each other, merging and thus forming different inner spaces of the exhibition halls. Spatial composition of the museum is formed with open and closed spaces: open common space of the atrium exhibition space and closed spaces of the smaller exhibition halls.
The museum creates an attraction, focusing attention in one green point. The exhibition area situated in a vertical volume consists of open spaces for large objects and closed spaces for smaller ones and/or for various media facilities.
The two large underground floors contain:
— public facilities: bookstores, audiences, cafes, toilets, education, etc.
— research facilities;
— large storage with receiving area.
